Ready or Not: A Comprehensive Guide to Removing Mods

Ready or Not's modding community is vibrant, offering players countless ways to enhance their gameplay experience. However, mods can sometimes introduce instability or prevent multiplayer sessions with unmodded friends. This guide details how to completely remove all mods from your Ready or Not game.

How to Remove Mods

Regardless of your mod installation method (Nexus Mod Manager, mod.io, or manual installation), follow these steps to remove all mods:

  1. Unsubscribe: Launch Ready or Not and unsubscribe from all mods within the in-game Mod Menu. This prevents re-download after deletion. Close the game.

  2. Delete Game Files: Open Steam, right-click Ready or Not in your Library, select Properties, then Installed Files, and finally Browse. Navigate to the following directory: Ready Or Not\Content\Paks. Delete all files and folders within the "Paks" folder. Then, delete the "Paks" folder itself.

  3. Delete Local AppData Files: Press Windows+R, type %localappdata%, and press Enter. Locate the Ready or Not folder, navigate to Ready Or Not\Saved\Paks, and delete the "Paks" folder within.

  4. Verify Game Files: Right-click Ready or Not in Steam, go to Properties > Installed Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files. This ensures no corrupted files remain.

  5. Optional Reinstall: For a completely clean slate (recommended if you don't plan on using mods again), consider reinstalling the game.

Why Delete Mods?

While mods enrich Ready or Not, they can also cause:

  • Instability: Community-created mods may introduce bugs, glitches, or crashes. Removing them often resolves these issues.
  • Multiplayer Restrictions: Playing with friends requires everyone to have the same mods installed. Removing mods allows for seamless multiplayer with unmodded players.

Ready or Not is available now on PC.
