According to Remedy's annual report, Control 2 has successfully passed the concept validation stage and has now moved into full production. This milestone marks a significant step forward for the project, solidifying its progress towards completion.
In addition to Control 2, two other exciting projects are currently in active development: FBC: Firebreak and the remakes of Max Payne 1+2. Just a year ago, these games were in the early stages of preparation, but they have since advanced to the next phase of development. However, it's worth noting that the project Kestrel, which was being developed in collaboration with Tencent, has been canceled and removed from Remedy's plans since May of last year.
All these projects are being crafted using Remedy's proprietary engine, Northlight, which has demonstrated its capabilities in games like Alan Wake 2 and other successful Remedy titles.
From a budgetary perspective, Control 2 is set with an estimated budget of 50 million euros. The game will be self-published by Remedy and will be available on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC platforms. On the other hand, FBC: Firebreak comes with a slightly lower budget of 30 million euros. This project will be accessible through PlayStation and Xbox subscription services upon release, as well as on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The budget details for the remakes of Max Payne 1+2 remain undisclosed, but they are confirmed to be AAA-level games. Both development and marketing for these remakes are fully supported by Rockstar Games.
