Stellar Blade's recent update, incorporating the highly anticipated Photo Mode and NieR: Automata DLC, unfortunately introduced several critical bugs. However, developer Shift Up is actively working on a hotfix.
Game-Breaking Bugs and the Hotfix
Patch 1.009, while delivering exciting new content, also caused game-breaking issues. Players are reporting softlocks in a main quest within an earlier dungeon, crashes when using the Photo Mode's selfie function, and rendering problems with new cosmetic items.
Shift Up advises against attempting to force quest progression. Instead, players should await the hotfix patch to avoid potential permanent softlocks.
NieR: Automata DLC and Enhanced Photo Mode
The 1.009 update includes the NieR: Automata collaboration, a result of the mutual respect and creativity between directors Kim Hyung Tae and Yoko Taro. Eleven exclusive items are available by interacting with Emil, who has established a shop within Stellar Blade's world.
The much-requested Photo Mode is finally here, allowing players to capture stunning images of Eve and her companions. New photo challenges further enhance this feature.
Further additions include four new outfits for Eve, a new accessory altering Tachy Mode's appearance (post-ending completion), a "No Ponytail" option, lip-sync support for six additional languages, improved projectile auto-aim and bullet magnet functionality for the instant death skill, and various minor bug fixes.
