Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 Rejects DRM Protection
Also Confirms No Microtransactions

Developers Saber Interactive recently published an FAQ detailing key features of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 ahead of its September 9 launch. Among the notable revelations is the confirmation that the game won't implement any DRM solutions like Denuvo Anti-Tamper technology.
DRM systems, while intended to prevent software piracy, often draw criticism from gamers over performance concerns. Well-documented cases like Capcom's controversial Enigma DRM implementation in Monster Hunter Rise—which reportedly caused Steam Deck compatibility issues and mod restrictions—have fueled player skepticism about such protections.
While opting against traditional DRM, Saber Interactive has confirmed Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will utilize Easy Anti-Cheat for PC multiplayer sessions. This anti-cheat solution previously faced scrutiny after being linked to security vulnerabilities during the Apex Legends ALGS 2024 tournament incident.
The developers have also clarified that while formal mod support isn't planned, players can anticipate robust gameplay features including PvP battles, survival horde mode, and an advanced photo mode. All gameplay content will be completely free, with any paid elements strictly limited to cosmetic customization options rather than core gameplay advantages.
