Obtaining the Monocle Component
Like its predecessor, the Staff of Ice requires three components. The Monocle is the easiest to obtain - simply defeat your first Shock Mimic in The Tomb. Approach the dropped Monocle and press interact to collect it.
Acquiring the Head Piece
The remaining two components involve puzzle-solving and lockdown survival - these can be completed in any order.
Begin your hunt for the Head Piece in the Neolithic Catacombs. Locate the cave painting wall - you'll need to shoot illuminated sections, but lighting conditions affect visibility. Activate the Dark Aether lanterns scattered through the Catacombs by shooting those with purple flames. These lanterns randomly relocate each round - when one illuminates the mural wall, the Roman numeral puzzles will become visible.
If lanterns aren't present, visit the Dark Aether Nexus and return later or progress a few rounds.
Shoot the Roman numerals sequentially (I through X). Mistakes aren't fatal - the sequence resumes from your last correct shot. Use precise bullet weapons to avoid accidental splash damage.
Completing the puzzle activates a constellation mural and triggers a challenging lockdown. Survive the undead assault (lower rounds recommended) to claim your Head Piece reward from the mural wall.
Securing the Staff Component
The final piece follows similar mechanics - locate the charging Bull Mural in the Tombs. Manipulate lantern flames until they illuminate the Roman numerals. Shoot them sequentially (I through VIII) to initiate another lockdown. Survive this encounter to obtain the Staff piece.
Assembling Your Weapon
With all components gathered, proceed to the Dark Aether Nexus's central structure. Initiate assembly via interact - this spawns aggressive zombies attempting to disrupt construction. Defend the Staff by deploying upgraded weapons, perks, and strategic GobbleGums (Kill Joy/Free Fire recommended).
Successful defense completes assembly - claim your powerful Staff of Ice.
