Monster Hunter Wilds Patch 1.000.05.00 Resolves Quest Issues, No Performance Boost Yet

Capcom has rolled out the Monster Hunter Wilds hotfix 1.000.05.00 across all platforms, bringing essential improvements and fixes to enhance your gaming experience. This patch tackles various progression blockers and resolves numerous bugs, although it doesn't include performance enhancements as detailed in the patch notes below.

Despite its record-breaking launch, Monster Hunter Wilds currently holds a 'mixed' user review rating on Steam, largely due to performance issues reported by PC players. However, the game's success is undeniable, having sold an impressive 8 million copies in just three days, making it Capcom's fastest-selling game to date. It also achieved the fifth highest concurrent player count on Steam, peaking at 1,384,608, surpassing games like Dota 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and Elden Ring. For comparison, Monster Hunter: World reached a peak of 334,684.

Players can look forward to a title update in early April, which will introduce a new endgame area for gathering and additional monster hunting content.

IGN’s Monster Hunter Wilds review awarded the game an 8/10, stating: “Monster Hunter Wilds continues to smooth off the rougher corners of the series in smart ways, making for some extremely fun fights but also lacking any real challenge.”

Monster Hunter Wilds Hotfix 1.000.05.00 patch notes:

• The “Grill a Meal” and “Ingredient Center” features can now be unlocked after meeting the progress criteria.
• Fixed an issue where players kept falling through the map when heading to Azuz during Main Mission: Chapter 2-1 “Toward Fervent Fields.”
• The Monster Field Guide is now accessible.
• Resolved an issue in Main Mission: Chapter 5-2 “A World Turned Upside Down” where an NPC may not appear, preventing further progression.
• Fixed an issue at the Smithy where tutorials were repeatedly shown, disabling certain menu options.
• Corrected a problem with the lance's Power Guard where the weapon would flash red without activating the effect under certain conditions.
• Fixed an issue where using a mantle mistakenly activated a Weapon Equipment Skill.
• Resolved continuous display of certain skill effects, such as Peak Performance and Self-Improvement.
• Fixed a freeze issue during an Offset Attack with the Insect Glaive’s Descending Slash under specific conditions.
• Addressed screen rendering issues and force quits under certain conditions.
• The Meal Invitation feature at Azuz and Sild now unlocks correctly.
• Fixed a notification issue where it incorrectly showed a Meal Invitation or an Environment Overview Update as available.
• Resolved an issue with Equipment Loadout where decorations were removed, Bowgun Customization reverted to default, and Kinsects reverted to initial rarity.
• Fixed a problem where cut monster parts changed into parts from different monsters.
• Gravios now gains resistance to flinches after breaking its parts, with slight adjustments in Ver. 1.000.05.00.
• Corrected crashes and strange monster behavior under certain situations.
• Fixed unintentional activation of some skills under certain conditions.
• Prevented repeated acquisition of some items/rewards under certain conditions.
• Fixed an issue where nearby fish did not swim away when using a capture net.
• Resolved multiple activations of certain environmental features like floating rubbles.
• Fixed unresponsiveness during Main Mission: Chapter 5-2 “The Root Cause” when talking to a certain NPC.
• Corrected an issue where Palico’s support move “Attract Vigorwasps” caused unresponsiveness.
• Fixed a display issue where only the first 20 quests were shown correctly when scrolling through the quest list.
• Addressed force quits when starting a game with saved data that previously encountered a force quit.

*To apply the fix, you must close and restart the game after updating to Ver. 1.000.05.00, which can be confirmed at the title screen.

Meanwhile, Capcom is actively working to address the following known issues in Monster Hunter Wilds as of March 10, 2025:

• A network error occurs when firing an SOS flare right after a quest begins.
• Link Members are not prioritized over other players and may not appear in some places, including Base Camps.
• Palico’s attacks with blunt weapons do not inflict stun and exhaust damages.
• Hunter Profile cannot be edited properly on some occasions.
• Some side missions cannot be completed under certain situations.
