Monster Hunter Wilds launches in just a few weeks, and Capcom has rolled out a PC benchmark tool to help players determine whether their systems are ready for the adventure. In tandem with this, the official PC system requirements have been updated—now asking less from your hardware than previously stated.
As revealed during yesterday’s Capcom Spotlight, the Monster Hunter Wilds PC benchmark is now live on Steam. Once launched, the tool will compile shaders before running through its performance tests. For those curious about how the updated specs might impact gameplay smoothness, it's definitely worth checking out.
Previously, achieving 1080p resolution at a smooth 60 frames per second (with Frame Generation enabled) required a capable setup: an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super, RTX 4060, or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT GPU; a CPU like the Intel Core i5-11600K, i5-12400, AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, or Ryzen 5 5500; and 16 GB of RAM.
However, Capcom has now revised the recommended system requirements, as listed alongside the new benchmark:
Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit / Windows 11 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i5-10400 / Intel Core i3-12100 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics Card (GPU): NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super / AMD Radeon RX 6600 (with 8 GB VRAM)
Storage: 75 GB SSD space
According to Capcom, these specs should comfortably run Monster Hunter Wilds at 1080p resolution and 60 FPS with Frame Generation turned on. As you can see, the changes represent a modest but meaningful reduction in system demands.

Some early testers have already noted improved performance in the latest benchmark compared to previous beta builds—especially when using Frame Generation. Unfortunately, the Steam Deck remains a tough sell. While one test rig passed with ease, testing on a personal Steam Deck unit didn’t yield encouraging results.
Another major change lies in storage footprint. The game once demanded a hefty 140 GB of SSD space, but that requirement has now been nearly halved to 75 GB. In an era where game file sizes seem to balloon year after year, this reduction comes as a pleasant surprise.
