Developer Announces Major Tweaks to REPO's Overcharge and Difficulty Scaling

REPO's Overcharge mechanic and difficulty scaling are set to undergo significant changes, as announced by the game's developer, Semiwork. These updates, revealed during the game's open beta, aim to enhance the gameplay experience by introducing new mechanics every 10 levels, starting with Overcharge at level 10.

During the open beta, REPO received valuable feedback from fans, particularly regarding the Overcharge mechanic. This feature allows players to counter enemies by picking them up and throwing them onto hard surfaces or away from their team. However, players must be cautious as an overcharge meter, when filled, will cause them to explode.

Originally available from the start, Overcharge will now be unlocked at level 10. Semiwork plans to introduce new difficulty-increasing mechanics at levels 20, 30, and beyond, with Overcharge setting the stage for these challenges. These mechanics will also be tied to the game's lore, ensuring they are not just gimmicks but integral parts of the story. In an effort to connect with the community, Semiwork developers participated in random matches during the open beta. Pontus Sundstrom, a developer from Semiwork, expressed his joy at seeing players enjoy the new features. He said, "And I've also actually played with a lot of you guys - incognito, in secret, through the random matchmaking in the servers." Sundstrom further added, "And I've been asking some questions and finding out what you guys find fun, stuff like that."
