InZOI: Ghosts, Afterlife, and Karma System Revealed

Author : Emery Apr 11,2025

InZOI's Game Director, Hyungjun "KJoon" Kim, has unveiled intriguing details about the game's integration of unusual and paranormal elements. Kim shared that players will have the unique opportunity to control ghosts, though this ability will be limited to ensure it complements rather than overshadows the core gameplay experience. This ghost-control mechanic is intricately linked to a karma system, which meticulously tracks characters' actions and significantly influences their future lives, extending its impact even beyond death.

The karma system plays a pivotal role in determining a character's fate after they pass away. Depending on their deeds, characters may either transition peacefully to the afterlife or be condemned to roam as ghosts among the living. To achieve final rest and leave the mortal realm, these ghostly entities must accumulate the necessary karma points.

In the early access version of InZOI, players will encounter ghosts, though the ability to control them won't be available until a later update. Hyungjun "KJoon" Kim emphasized that InZOI is fundamentally a game centered around real-life experiences, with paranormal elements being carefully integrated to maintain a balance. However, Kim hinted at the potential introduction of additional unexplained phenomena in future updates, adding layers of mystery and intrigue to the game.
