Assassins Creed Shadows Combat and Progression Unveiled

Ubisoft has provided exciting new details about the combat and progression systems in the upcoming game, Assassin's Creed Shadows. Game director Charles Benoit has shed light on the character development mechanics, the way loot is distributed, and the variety of weapons players can expect.

The game introduces two key progression elements: mastery points and knowledge points. Mastery points are acquired through leveling up or by defeating formidable foes, whereas knowledge points are earned by completing missions and discovering new items. These points allow players to unlock a range of new abilities and enhance their weapons, offering a deep and engaging progression system.

Each weapon in Assassin's Creed Shadows features its own upgrade tree, enabling players to craft personalized builds tailored to their playstyle. A unique feature is the ability to reset progress at any time, which encourages experimentation with different strategies and weapons. For instance, legendary weapons like the naginata come with special bonuses, such as the ability to counter attacks that are impossible to deflect with other weapons, adding a strategic layer to combat.

The combat system is designed to support stealthy takedowns of all enemies but also promotes the use of varied combat techniques. As players progress, they unlock additional stat upgrades, which allow for further refinement of their skills.
