Launched on PC via Steam in Early Access on March 28, inZOI quickly captured global attention—not only for its visually rich gameplay but also due to some controversial early discoveries. Players found that they could harm child characters, prompting swift action from Krafton, which labeled the incident as an “unintended bug” and promptly patched it out.
Despite this initial hiccup, inZOI continues to maintain a ‘very positive’ user review rating on Steam. The game also experienced a peak of 175,000 concurrent viewers on Twitch, placing it third in the Games category, and reached the top spot on Steam’s Global Top Sellers List (by revenue) just 40 minutes after release.
Krafton further reported impressive engagement with Canvas, the game’s built-in user-generated content (UGC) sharing platform. On launch day alone, Canvas attracted over 1.2 million participants and saw more than 470,000 pieces of content uploaded, showcasing the community's enthusiasm and creativity.
IGN’s Early Access review awarded inZOI a 6/10, stating: “inZOI is a visually striking life simulator with plenty of ambition, but not enough depth as of its Early Access launch.” Still, the game appears to be resonating well with players worldwide.
Krafton credits much of the success to its pre-launch promotional efforts and transparent communication with the community, both of which helped build trust and momentum ahead of release. The developer noted that the global showcase and demo build were particularly effective in generating interest.
CEO CH Kim shared his thoughts, saying: “We are grateful and excited to present inZOI to players around the world through Early Access. We will continue to actively communicate with players and foster inZOI as Krafton’s long-term franchise IP.”

Looking ahead, Krafton plans to roll out regular updates featuring new content such as additional cities and mod support. All updates and DLC will be offered free of charge until full release.
In response to player feedback, the team has pledged to implement quick hotfixes throughout April to address critical issues. While the scale of the inZOI community has been described as “a next-level experience,” Krafton acknowledges it’s still navigating the learning curve when it comes to optimal community communication strategies.
